Our wholehearted commitment to show by the way we live, turning His commandments into deeds, is tested when it seems we are experiencing what Jeremiah saw; a boiling pot ready to spill out its evil [Torah-lessness] over the land. (StT Jeremiah 1:13-14)
This last days pot’s ingredients listed in 2 Timothy 3 have been stewing for quite some time making it feel we are dwelling in the midst of Satan’s field. Infected with selfishness, arrogant people will love themselves and the pleasures of the world more than God and mock those who have Torah in their hearts. These greedy boasters dishonor their parents, are hostile, slanderous, acting without restraint and haters of what is good and are udderly ungrateful. God says this about those who feign a reverence for Him : “This people honors Me with their lips, but their hearts are far distant away from Me: and they are worshipping Me in vain teaching (Doctrines) that are commandments of men.” (Matthew 15:8-9; Isaiah 29:13)
If the boiling pot example wasn’t enough that things are going to get ‘hot’ Luke writes in Acts 14:22 how all His disciples will suffer a lot to enter into the Kingdom of God.
Weren’t these Bible writers supposed to be Public Relations Specialists?
Surely there was a better good news plug than what Isaiah went with when he pointed out that people who refuse to do evil will be targeted in a time when truth is no longer being hoed (dug into). The enemy uses the non-kingdom citizens to unleash his weapon of word waves on anyone who starts living by Kingdom rules. Astonished by the New Lifer’s change of values and their refusal to run with them in the flood of debauchery like before, the non-believers resort to criticism and ridicule. (StT Isaiah 59:15; 1 Peter 4:4)
